The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside surrounded by loving family on Monday November 22, 2021 of Jean Murphy (nee Shea), Waterford aged 83 years.
Beloved wife of the late Earl Murphy of Pleasant View.
She was born in Waterford on April 30, 1938, the eldest of the late Chester and Millie (McLellan) Shea. Cherished mother to Paul (Bonnie) Murphy, Waterford; Shelley (Kevin) Mealy, Walpole, MA; the late Patrick Murphy and James Murphy, Elmvale, ON.
Loving grandmother to Chelsea and Meghan Murphy, Patrick, Matthew and Nicholas Mealy.
She is survived by sisters and brother Paula Kelly, Waterford, Frannie McPherson, New Hampshire; Janet (Pius) Trainor, Ontario; Jackie (Elmer) Arsenault, Tignish; Marilee Arsenault, Waterford; Wilbert (Cathy) Shea, Waterford; Nancy Shea, Ontario; brother-in-law Roger Jones, Charlottetown; sister-in-law Ann Shea, Skinners Pond.
Also survived by sister and brothers-in-law Josephine Breau, Leonard (Christine) Murphy, Fred (Sheila) Murphy, Flo Murphy and Sue Murphy.
She was predeceased by her parents Chester and Millie; son Patrick; sister Catherine; brother Donnie; brothers-in-law Gerard Kelly, Ronnie McPherson, Gary Arsenault, Richard, Russell, Frank and Joseph Murphy, father and mother-in-law Clarence and Lima Murphy.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for public visitation (Vax Pass and Photo ID required) will be held Friday 6-9 pm. Private funeral for family and invited guests will be held Saturday November 27, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 1:30 pm. Interment in the church cemetery.
